Overview

Most paint jobs that peel, crack or bubble within a year fail because of what happened before the roller ever touched the wall -- skipped filler, no primer, or paint applied over a surface that was still damp or chalky. Our painters treat surface preparation as the job, not a step before it: scraping and sanding old coats, filling hairline cracks and nail holes, treating damp patches, and priming bare or repaired areas so the topcoat has something sound to bond to.

Dubai's climate adds its own demands. Exterior walls face direct summer sun, wind-blown dust and the salt-laden humidity that rolls in off the coast, all of which shorten the life of a poorly-applied exterior coat. Interior work has the opposite problem in humid rooms -- kitchens, bathrooms, and villa majlis areas with heavy AC cycling -- where the wrong paint sheen traps moisture and grows mould behind the finish. We select primer and paint systems suited to the specific wall, room and exposure rather than applying the same product everywhere.

We cover full interior and exterior painting, decorative and textured finishes, re-painting and touch-up work, and the surface preparation that determines how long any of it lasts -- for villas, apartments, offices, retail units and hospitality spaces. A painter surveys the site before we quote, checking wall condition, moisture, and existing coats, so the plan and the price match the actual job.

Painting is one of eleven licensed trade lines we operate under Interior Fixers Technical Services, alongside gypsum & false ceiling, carpentry, wallpaper fixing and more -- so if a paint job uncovers a ceiling crack, a damp patch that needs a plumber's eye, or a wall better suited to wallpaper, we can bring in the right technician without you sourcing a second contractor.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends heavily on the paint quality, wall orientation, and prep work rather than a fixed number of years. Walls facing direct afternoon sun and exposed to summer heat fade and chalk faster than shaded elevations. Using a UV-resistant exterior system and proper primer on a well-prepared surface extends the interval significantly compared with a standard interior paint applied outdoors, which is one of the most common causes of early exterior paint failure we see.

Wallpaper should be removed before painting in almost all cases. Paint applied over wallpaper traps moisture behind the paper, causing bubbling, peeling and uneven texture as the adhesive breaks down underneath. We strip the old wallpaper, treat any adhesive residue or damp patches on the wall beneath, then fill and sand the surface before priming and painting.

Peeling and bubbling in wet areas is almost always a moisture problem -- either the wall was painted while still damp, the wrong paint type was used for a high-humidity room, or ventilation is poor and moisture keeps building up behind the coat. We use moisture-resistant, washable finishes suited to wet areas and make sure the surface is fully dry and properly primed before painting, which prevents most of this recurring.

We can usually match an existing colour closely enough for small touch-ups, though a perfect match depends on how faded or aged the surrounding paint is -- older walls exposed to sunlight often shift in tone over time, making a patch visible even with a correct colour code. For a seamless result on a visibly worn wall, repainting the full wall or panel rather than spot-touching it usually gives a better outcome.

A textured or decorative paint finish (stucco, sponge, or metallic effects) creates depth and pattern using paint techniques directly on the wall, and it's more resistant to scuffs and easier to touch up locally. Feature wallpaper offers a wider range of prints, patterns and metallic or fabric-look finishes that paint techniques can't replicate, but it's less forgiving of wall imperfections and more work to remove later. We can advise on which suits your wall condition and the look you want during the site survey.

It depends on the current condition of the wall -- a recently painted, sound surface needs only light sanding and cleaning, while a wall with cracks, flaking paint, or old damp staining needs scraping, crack filling, spot priming, and sometimes a stain-blocking primer before any topcoat goes on. Skipping this step is the single biggest reason repainted walls fail early, so we assess wall condition on site rather than quoting a flat prep allowance over the phone.

Painting cost depends on the area to be covered, the condition of the existing surface, the number of coats needed, and the paint quality and finish selected -- an interior repaint and a full exterior villa repaint are priced very differently. We provide a fixed quote after a free on-site survey, so you know the exact scope and cost before work begins.

Yes. We offer after-sales support and AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) packages for clients who want ongoing upkeep -- touch-ups after minor wall damage, scuffs in high-traffic areas, or re-painting on a set schedule -- rather than treating every touch-up as a fresh call-out.
